MENTAL HEALTH PROVIDERS SHOWCASE VISIT

.

We were thrilled to be joined by representatives from Carlisle Eden Mind, Andy's Man Club and Every Life Matters for our home clash with Fleetwood Town.

This was to coincide with World Suicide Prevention Day, which was on September 10.

Our guests joined us a Tullie House for a tour of the ‘Backing The Blues Exhibition’, which was followed by a walk to the match. Once at Brunton Park, representatives from each of the organisations presented information to our matchday stewards on the mental health services they provide and shared their knowledge and expertise with the other partners present.

This was a great opportunity to network and provide information, advice and guidance on their provision.

Tom and Patty popped by to say hello to our guests and thanked them for the amazing work they do in our community. Our guests then went on to enjoy the Fan Zone and watch the match.

United's EDI Lead, Teresa Mulholland said: "Integrating mental health providers to our matchday visits is an excellent way of demonstrating our ongoing commitment to EDI.

"Arranged visits like this helps to showcase the mental health support available and encourages collaboration among different providers and agencies. It demonstrates our commitment to creating an inclusive environment where mental health is prioritised, helping to reduce stigma and ensure that everyone has the correct information to access the necessary support services."

Carlisle Eden Mind's Services Manager, Gabby Stephenson said: "It was a brilliant day at Brunton Park and an amazing opportunity to talk about mental health."

Nina Porter from Every Life Matters added: "Thank you for inviting us to look around the 'Backing The Blues' exhibition, to watch the match, and discuss issues around suicide prevention and mental health support within the city and county.

"It was very inspiring to catch up with other charities"
