Carlisle United are away at Blackpool Girls and Ladies on Sunday.
In what is only Carlisle’s third game of the season, the Ladies travel to the HASSRA Sports Ground to face Blackpool.
This game marks United’s second away clash of the season, whilst it’s Blackpool’s first home game of the campaign.
United will be looking to build upon a strong showing against Accrington Stanley Women, that despite not yielding the desired result, certainly showed signs that this could be a positive campaign for the Blues.
This Sunday also serves as another opportunity for more development players to get their chance to shine.
At this early stage of the season, it is difficult to predict what sort of challenge Blackpool will give the Cumbrians. The Tangerines have started the season with a 4-0 loss to Carlisle’s last opponents, Accrington and a 3-2 loss to Bolton Wanderers.
The Blues come into the game though off the back of two positive performances and will be looking to put a positive stamp onto the start of the season. If the same endeavour and skill that they have shown in the opening games is exhibited on the pitch on Sunday, the Blues can be hopeful of coming back to Cumbria with their first three points of the season.
