Kris Foster, the newly appointed SW Regional Organiser for the London Branch, welcomed 45+ Blues fans in Central Bristol the night before last week’s Bristol Rovers game, for a Q&A with Paul Simpson.
Paul spoke about the slump in form and the reasons; the demands of League 1, the difficulties of the summer recruitment, the quality of January’s recruits and the ones that didn’t happen, the effect and possible reasons for injuries.
He emphasised how important the new training facilities will be and how he hopes that there will be 2 full-size training pitches and an inflatable indoor facility by next season and how he hoped to complete the signing of Gabe Breeze very shortly (now happened).
Simmo was accompanied by the club media team, Amy Nixon and James Gates, and left to a standing ovation having thanked the fans for their support in a difficult season.
The event was organised by Kris, and London Branch Vice Chair, John Bowman, to be the launch event for a newly formed SW Group of the long-established London Branch.
Kris commented: “It was great to see so many local fans at the event and augurs well for our new group. We are looking to offer travelling options, socials and communication to make the most of our location.”
In addition to local activities, the members of the new group will be entitled to all the normal benefits of being a member of the London Branch – ticket priority for major games (after season ticket holders), 10% discount in the Blues Store, ticket purchase scheme for away games, pre-match meeting pubs, enewsletter, Hit The Bar! fanzine, 40 club with great club prizes, online and pre-match events, annual summer trip and weekends away, and fundraising for projects to benefit young fans and players.
