Foxes defender signs on loan
Carlisle United have today signed Leicester City defender James Pearson on loan until the end of the current campaign.
Pearson, 21, joined The Foxes following a successful trial period in September 2012 and was previously on the books with Rotherham United and at Hartpury College.
He can play at right back or in the centre of defence and has been used in the Leicester City development squad throughout this season.
"James hasn’t made his league debut yet but I watched him the other week at Newcastle and he played particularly well," manager Graham Kavanagh said. "He’s a right back and he handles the ball really well.
“He’s Nigel Pearson’s son and I played with Nigel at Middlesbrough. I know what he is all about as a man, and as a player, and I’m sure the apple hasn’t fallen too far from the tree.
"I’m hoping James will go on to have the same career his dad had and that this will be the start of it. We’re looking to give him a leg up and help him out and that he will come in and do us a good job."
James Pearson will wear squad number 31.
