Watford defender signs on loan
Carlisle United have today signed Watford defender Reece Brown on a one-month loan deal which keeps him at Brunton Park until 12 April 2014.
Brown, 22, the younger brother of Black Cats centre half Wes, started his career as a youngster at Manchester United and was offered a professional contract by the Red Devils in 2009.
The England U19 and U20 international enjoyed loan spells with Bradford, Doncaster, Oldham, Coventry and most recently Ipswich Town during his time at Old Trafford and joined the Hornets on a free transfer in the summer of 2013 on a two-year deal.
"We’ve brought Reece in from Watford and he has quite a bit of experience in this league," manager Graham Kavanagh said. "He went to Oldham and Coventry on loan from Manchester United and he did well with both clubs.
“He’s one who has size and he is very, very quick. He has an excellent pedigree and he’s been with clubs who play the game the right way. I’m hoping he adds a lot of quality to the group.”
Reece Brown will wear squad number 28.
