A toss of the coin on Friday afternoon determined that this season's Youth Alliance Cup final will be played right here at Brunton Park on Wednesday 17 April, kick off 7pm.The road to Wem ... Brun ... the final started way back in November with a 4-2 away victory over Rotherham and the theme of goals at all costs continued as the young Cumbrians continued their relentless march.
Accrington Stanley were next to feel the force as they were put to the sword with a 5-2 scoreline, and it was no better for Shrewsbury Town as they were swept aside by a comfortable 5-0 Carlisle win.
Things were a bit tighter in the area semi-final as United edged past Fleetwood with a thrilling 5-4 victory, and that left them with the small task of facing northern favourites Walsall in last week's big match final.
