MD John Nixon on coaching staff contracts
Carlisle United Football Club can today confirm that talks with manager Greg Abbott about his contract situation will resume towards the end of this week.
“We have spoken to Greg [Abbott] on a number of occasions throughout this season about the way forward but he requested a number of weeks ago for talks to be suspended until the main business was concluded,” managing director John Nixon said.
“That included closing off the final run of fixtures and then taking care of the sensitive issues of contract offers and player releases at the beginning of this week.
“We expect to pick up talks on the offer of a further one-year deal again later this week and we should be able to make an announcement following that in due course.”
“We also have the contract issues with his coaching staff to resolve,” he added. “Again, we expect Graham Kavanagh and Tony Caig to remain as part of the staff as we go forward into next season.”
