Hospice event to be held at Brunton Park
This summer the home of Carlisle United Football Club will be transformed by fundraising superheroes flying through the skies.
On Sunday 26 May, Eden Valley Hospice will host their annual Zip Slide event at Brunton Park for the very first time.
A host of Carlisle United players are now encouraging fundraisers to release their inner Superman, Cat Woman or Jimmy Glass (fancy dress optional) in aid of the local hospice.
Carlisle United defender Danny Livesey said: “If I was going in fancy dress I think I would have to be Superman. He can fly through the sky anyway and I fancy a bit of that.
"This is a fantastic cause and we always enjoy working with the local Hospice. Hopefully people will sign up for this and help them to raise much-needed funds for the fantastic work they continue to do."
The high octane fundraising event offers both United supporters and Hospice fundraisers an amazing opportunity to support the work of Eden Valley Hospice as they take a 1000 foot ride into the stadium.
Team captain Lee Miller added: “I would have to be Batman. He's cool and he has all the gadgets.
"Of course I would be up for the Zip Slide challenge at Brunton Park, if I was able to take part, but it would be fantastic for Hospice supporters, United supporters and the local community to take part in this brilliant event. ”
Eden Valley Hospice is hoping that 180 fundraising superheroes will take on this high octane challenge, which offers people a fantastic way to support the local Hospice.
