Last Thursday afternoon, Aaron Hayden, Dylan McGeouch and Harry Lewis attended a 'Show Racism the Red Card' event at Brunton Park.
The trio listened to an important talk from some of the campaign's representatives, before taking centre stage, answering questions from others in attendance, which included pupils from schools within the local community.
Paul Kearns, Director of Operations at Show Racism the Red Card said: "Show Racism the Red Card were delighted to deliver another educational event at Brunton Park as part of our fantastic partnership with Carlisle United FC.
"Sport is such a powerful driver of social change and the Blues have been long-standing supporters of our work, standing shoulder-to-shoulder with us to make it clear that racism has no place in the City.
"Collaborating with Community Sports Trusts and Football Clubs is vital to our mission of educating the next generation and building an inclusive society, free from prejudice.”
Community Sports Trust Chief Executive Officer, James Tose added: “As we all know, there is no place for racism in sport or society and here at Carlisle United, we were delighted to welcome Paul and James from Show Racism the Red Card to deliver a fantastic workshop.
"It provided a safe space for the children of Norman Street, Brook Street and St Cuthberts Primary schools to express their thoughts and ideas on this very important subject.”
Aaron Hayden stated: "The Show Racism the Red Card event was really beneficial to have all the young kids learning and participating in discussions about the affects of racism and also helping them to know how to deal with it if it may occur.
"I feel that events like this are crucial in order to educate the next generation in the ongoing battle against racism."
