Carlisle United Supporters’ Trust are teaming up with St John Ambulance to help fundraise to place defibrillators within and outside Brunton Park.
Each defibrillator costs £1,104 and a secure cabinet £600 meaning we have a target of £6,816 to make Brunton Park a safe environment.
Whilst one defibrillator is already in place at Brunton Park outside the Neil Centre, St John Ambulance have advised that we place a second in the West Stand, two within the East Stand concourse, one each for home and away supporters, with the final being placed next to the club shop. This will ensure Brunton Park is one of the safest grounds for fans to visit.
CUST are delighted to confirm that we will be donating the cost of the first defibrillator machine and the secure, heated cabinet meaning our new target is only £5,112. In addition, CUST will cover the installation of all cabinets (cabinets are required to be temperature controlled and therefore connected to a mains power supply), all maintenance checks and the replacement of pads and batteries once required.

Dan MacLennan, Chair CUST said: "The Supporters’ Trust is delighted to be launching our defibrillator appeal.
"Ensuring the entirety of Brunton Park has defibrillator coverage by purchasing four new devices to complement the one currently in-situ is something we can all agree is a worthwhile cause.
"As you’ll read in the words from fellow Blues, these devices can literally be the difference between life and death and having several at strategic points around the ground can only be a good thing.
"Please take a minute to read the various social media posts we have coming in the next few weeks, it could just help save a life.
"We’d like to thank in advance everybody who contributes to this appeal!"
Matt Spooner, Fan Rep CUST said: "It’s very easy to forget about the importance of life saving equipment and training – until you need it.
"I’m really happy that this project has got off the ground, Chris has done a brilliant job working with St John Ambulance. The defib units will be an important addition to the ground, as much as I hope we don’t need to use any of them!
"I am thrilled that the club have agreed to match fund the first £1000 raised."
Nigel Clibbens, Carlisle United Chief Executive said: "When CUST approached us on this we were delighted to offer our support for this appeal and give it the full backing of the club.
"To help get it moving the club will provide matched funding for the first £1,000 donated."
Please keep an eye out for more on this campaign from fellow fans and some surprise guests on our social media channels over the next few weeks!
Thanks for reading, and thanks in advance for your donations, every penny is massively appreciated.
