Carlisle United celebrated their dedicated EFL Community Weekend by honouring five Community Heroes at half-time of last Saturday's game against Gillingham.
EFL Community Weekends are a vital landmark during the season, highlighting the work of the clubs, community club organisations and Community Heroes who have an immense positive impact across the local community.
The Community Heroes were selected for their commitment and determination to support projects aiding many people in Cumbria.
They were as follows:
Aydin Hussein - A student at Carlisle United Community Sports College, Aydin has provided many hours of support to Carlisle United Community Sports Trust sessions from Junior Foxes to Soccer Schools alongside assisting on a matchday.
Nataly Mason - Building on her role as the Blues' Her Game Too ambassador and Women and Girls EDI representative, Nataly has become a volunteer coach with CUFC CST's Girls Emerging Talent Centre, allowing her to give back to the local girls' game.
John Notman - As part of the Carlisle United Collective, John has played a key part in the team which helped develop projects such as the Memory Garden and the Backing the Blues exhibition at Tullie House, dedicating many hours to promoting the club's history.
Keith Richardson - A member of the CUFC CST Veterans Group and Carlisle and Stanwix Branch of the Royal British Legion Chairman, Keith is a crucial figure in Veterans provision across the region and a stalwart of the sessions.
Keith Ward - As a volunteer at CUFC CST's United in Memories sessions, supporting those affected by dementia, Keith has helped drive the project's success, which has seen the group outgrow two venues despite only being in its first year.
To recognise the Community Heroes, the club hosted them in a hospitality box, excellently catered for by staff from John Watt and Son before stepping onto the Brunton Park pitch to receive a banner from CUFC CST CEO, James Tose.
A big thank you goes to Carol and Peter Johnston for providing food and drink on the day, the Community Heroes had an amazing experience.
James Tose said: "We are immensely proud of our Community Heroes, and it was only fitting to acknowledge this by giving Keith, Natalie, Aydin, John and Keith a special day out at Brunton Park.
"Everyone at Carlisle United appreciates their contribution to our community, and we are very lucky to have them."
