Due to a late dropout, Carlisle United Community Sports Trust College have limited places available for both their male and female Football Development Scholarship.
If you have just received your GCSE results and are still undecided on what to do, then this course may be a perfect opportunity.
The course, in partnership with League Football Education, runs full-time for two years and is a BTEC level three diploma/extended diploma in sports coaching.
It is equivalent to two or three A-Levels depending on GCSE results and was rated ‘Outstanding’ in their most recent Ofsted.
The students represent Carlisle United in the Community & Education Northern League as well as playing in the national cup.
Learners train throughout the week, including technical/tactical and strength and conditioning sessions, with students also having access to a physio clinic every Thursday, which they can attend if they are suffering from any injuries.
They can complete their FA Playmaker course, FA Intro to Talent ID, as well as the FA level one in football coaching and will also complete work placement hours with our fantastic community coaches on their comprehensive community programme.
If you join the course, you will also complete regular tutorials throughout the year in many different and important areas, including car safety, drug & alcohol awareness, heart start/first aid, CV writing and other valuable topics.
Liam Jackson, Carlisle United Community Sports Trust Director of Education, said: "The course allows 16-19-year-olds the opportunity to train like a professional footballer whilst gaining first-class education.
"We offer an engaging and practical curriculum delivered in our superb facilities."
