Carlisle United Ladies travel to Lancashire this Sunday to face second-placed Accrington Stanley Women.
Both teams come into Sunday’s match on the back of multiple postponements. United having their last two called off, whilst Stanley have had their last three postponed.
The Cumbrians have played Accrington already this season. United’s first home game of the season, saw Stanley running out 3-1 winners.
Accrington were 1-0 up in the first encounter, Carlisle responded back through Bessie Best, but Accrington added two late goals to seal the three points.
Sunday’s opponents sit 2nd in the table on 28 points, having only dropped points in two games this season. These were a 3-0 defeat to table-toppers Bolton and a 1-1 draw away at Stanwix.
Last time out, they faced Whitehaven Ladies where they ran out 5-0 winners.
In the Blues' last game, they gained a well-deserved point in a 1-1 draw with Penwortham Town Ladies.
Sunday’s game will be United’s penultimate game before the Christmas break.
