Carlisle United Community Sports Trust participated in a sustainability social action project in partnership with Brampton School on Friday 30 November.
Through the Premier League Primary Stars' delivery with Year Four, which focused on sustainability this term, the class decided to sell preloved items at their Christmas Fair, putting their learning into practice.
This was to encourage people to help the environment by reselling old clothes and toys to avoid waste, while raising money for the school through donations of the customer's choice.
During the event, many items were donated and sold, raising over £60, and the remaining items were kept to be distributed to the local community.
Community Coach, Dillan Corrie said: "It was great to see the student-led project at Brampton School flourish on Friday night.
"To be able to give something back to the school and local community is such an important part of our work.
"Thank you to Brampton for allowing us to attend their fair; the project would not have been a success without their collaboration."
Brampton Primary School Headteacher, Chris Armstrong said: "Well done to Year Four, who have worked brilliantly with the coaches from Carlisle United Community Sports Trust this term.
"The children have learned about reusing and recycling items to reduce their impact on the environment.
"They donated pre-loved items for a stall at the Christmas Fair and raised a fantastic total for their class fund in the process."
