HARRISON BIGGINS JOINS ON LOAN

Carlisle United Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of midfielder Harrison Biggins on a season-long loan deal from Shrewsbury Town.

Biggins, 28, was born in Sheffield and played youth football for Barnsley. He moved to Fleetwood in the summer of 2017 and made his debut for the club here at Brunton Park in an EFL Trophy game.

He went on to make 99 appearances for Fleetwood before joining Doncaster Rovers in 2022.

The energetic midfielder was an integral part of the Doncaster team which went on an impressive run of ten straight wins towards the end of last season.

Manager Paul Simpson said: "I’m delighted. He’s a player that we talked about in the summer, he’s an attack-minded, goalscoring midfield player.

"He’s different to what we’ve got, so I’m really pleased we’ve got him in the building. I’m surprised that Shrewsbury have let him go out to be honest.

"I think he really adds to the group. He’s a really good footballer. Gets goals from midfield, he’s a great athlete and gets around the pitch well.

"He’s had a full pre-season and has been involved in all the games so far. He’s got a week to settle in, as he’s not available tomorrow and he’s cup-tied, so can’t play on Tuesday."

Harrison will wear the number 12 shirt during his spell at United.
