A young United team bowed out of the Cumberland Cup on Tuesday night as Jordan Irving's strike earned a 1-0 victory for Carlisle City at Gillford Park.
It was a game of few chances, with City having the better of it in the first half, but Sillitoe stood up well to everything that was thrown at him.
City got the only goal of the game on the hour mark after they made the most of a ricochet in midfield, Jordan Irving took it round Casey Sillitoe in goal and rolled it into the back of the net.
Jonah Lowes had United's best chance with ten minutes left on the clock, but it wasn't to be for the Blues as it came back of the post and landed kindly for the City keeper to gather up.
United - Sillitoe, Chapman, Hodgson, Allan (Rigby 65), Porter, Atkinson, Hetherington (Lambert 65), Skinner, O'Donoghue, Lowes, Hopper. Unused subs - Randall, Bell, Smith.
