For United's fixture against Crewe, several of our armed forces veterans were invited to attend the game in one of the executive hospitality boxes, kindly arranged by CUFC's Chief Executive, Nigel Clibbens.
The club provided veterans with exclusive access to one of our executive boxes, offering them a premium matchday experience complete with hospitality and the thrilling atmosphere of live football. This special day was a gesture of gratitude for their extraordinary service and dedication to our nation.
Nigel Clibbens said: “Teresa and the CST team do great work with the veterans and we want that to grow and go from strength to strength. We were delighted to host them at the game.
"We plan to do a dedicated 'Salute To Service Game” each season starting in 25/26, to recognise and pay tribute to the contribution of current and former service people as a big showcase event.”
Veteran, Peter Rees added: "I would like to say a heartfelt thank you from myself and all the other veterans who were fortunate and lucky enough to be invited into one of the VIP hospitality boxes to watch the game against Crewe.
"I believe I can speak for all of the Veterans in saying thank you to Carlisle United, Nigel Clibbens, Teresa Mulholland & Ryan Godderidge.
"For me, it was great to feel safe and very comfortable (being disabled and suffering from chronic PTSD and depression) being with good friends and Teresa - every one of the veterans loved it, and the service from the hospitality team was fantastic.
