COMMUNITY SPORTS TRUST ENJOY RECORD-BREAKING SUMMER

.

Carlisle United Community Sports Trust enjoyed its biggest summer yet after a successful set of Soccer Schools, Gymnastics and Dance Camps.

The Community Sports Trust held ten Soccer Schools between July and August across seven locations: Carlisle, Wigton, Penrith, Whitehaven, Kendal, Keswick and Maryport.

They also hosted five Gymnastics and Dance Camps in Carlisle, providing an outstanding delivery of activities across the summer period.

The number of attendees reached an all-time high throughout the two months with 1062 individual bookings compared to last year's total of 801, an exceptional increase of 33%.

It was incredible to see so many new faces alongside the regular attendees, and the return to Kendal will hopefully provide a springboard for future Soccer Schools in South Cumbria.

Participation levels were aided by the involvement of Kellogg's, which allowed us to offer 600 free places through their 'Kellogg's Football Camps' promotion, activated by purchasing one of their products that contained a code.

Across the summer delivery, it was fantastic to have such high female engagement levels, with 181 attending either the Soccer Schools or Gymnastics and Dance Camps, which has led to the potential of a Girls-specific football provision on the horizon.

The CST were delighted to have a strong level of player attendance this summer, with nine players appearing at our Soccer Schools.

Aaron Hayden, alongside Taylor Charters, came to Wigton in the first week of Soccer Schools, with Ben Barclay and Jack Ellis attending the Carlisle camp a week later.

Callum Guy was present in Penrith to hand out the awards, while Josh Vela and former Carlisle man, Dan Butterworth, came to the second of the Carlisle Soccer Schools.

Rounding off the summer, Ethan Robson and team captain Charlie Wyke came to the final Carlisle Soccer School to wrap up the excellent player engagement across the six-week period.

The next block of Soccer Schools take place at the end of October and are now available to book online HERE, alternatively, call 07706 354022 or email: soccerschools@carlisleunitedcst.co.uk

Carlisle United Community Sports Trust CEO, James Tose said: "It's been a brilliant summer with over 1000 boys and girls taking part in our football, gymnastics and dance camps.

"The numbers are a testament to the quality of the delivery and the environment created by our fantastic staff.

"Our summer activity has been made extra special with nine of the first team squad giving up their time to come along, sign autographs, hand out awards and support the club's official charity."

Carlisle United Community Sports Trust Soccer Schools Co-ordinator, Sam Tickner added: "We have had a great six weeks delivering 15 camps across the county in seven locations, and the children have had a fantastic time.

"It has been brilliant to provide our summer activities in a fun and safe environment to a record-breaking number of participants."
