Carlisle United can confirm that striker Charlie Wyke is set to miss the rest of the season through injury.
The striker has sustained a left ankle fracture/dislocation and requires surgery on the injury.
Wyke came on as a half time substitute during Saturday’s game against Cheltenham but had to replaced shortly afterwards.
Head coach Mike Williamson said: “It’s obviously disappointing news for Charlie and for all of us.
“He’s our captain and he’ll be missed, but we know how tough he is and we’re all right behind him.
“He’s got the complete support of everyone at the football club, and we’ll help him through this in whatever way we can.”
