Carlisle United are delighted to announce the loan signing of Crystal Palace defender Sean Grehan.
The centre back makes the move to Brunton Park on a loan deal until the end of the 2023/24 season.
Born in Dublin, Grehan cut his teeth at Bohemians in his homeland before being invited for a trial at Selhurst Park in 2022.
He impressed during his time in South London and signed a two-year contract ahead of the 2022/23 campaign, going on to feature heavily for the club’s under-21 side in Premier League 2.
Grehan made 36 appearances for the Eagles during his debut campaign in England and his fine form was rewarded with a call-up to the Republic of Ireland under-19 side.
This season saw the 19-year-old named on Palace’s first-team bench for their Carabao Cup tie at Plymouth Argyle before signing a new long-term contract with the Premier League side.
Grehan’s 17 appearances and two goals for his club this term in the under-21 side have also been added to by a first cap for his nation’s under-21 team.
We’ll have more from Sean on the club’s channels soon.
The deal remains subject to the clearance of all necessary paperwork.
