CUMBERLAND CUP: Penrith 0 - 0 United

United faced Penrith in the quarter final of the Fred Conway Cumberland Cup on Tuesday night.

There was a strong squad involved, with nine first team players involved in the starting line-up.

United got the breakthrough with 25 minutes on the clock after McGeouch intercepted the ball in midfield. He set Ablade away down the right and he picked out Harris on the edge of the box. The midfielder stroked it home from 18 yards.

The Blues doubled their lead just before half time when Anton Dudik finished from six-yards out. A Taylor Charters free kick was blocked but Fin Back kept it alive and got a low cross in which the Ukrainian striker finished.

Fin Back should have made it three moments later but he didn't connect properly after Aran Fitzpatrick fizzed a cross into the box and the score stayed at 2-0 as we went into the break.

Harris doubled his tally for the evening with a neat finish from 20 yards after Dudik had controlled Allan's cross. Penrith pulled one back almost immediately when DJ Taylor showed quick feet in the box and fired past Tomas Holy.

Jake Allan finished nicely to round off the scoring after he lifted it over the keeper after Romeo Park slid a pass through to him in the box.
