Second-year scholar Kai Nugent joined Danny Grainger’s Workington side on Saturday morning on a work experience loan deal with bring more valuable experience for the playmaker, who turns 18 next month.
Talking about the move, manager Paul Simpson said: “It’s brilliant for him. I think Workington have had a bit of an injury issue going on.
“He’s gone on a work experience, which is brilliant for Kai, and Danny's been in training helping Mark Birch with the coaching so he knows what Kai can do.
“He’s got a really infectious sort of personality, so hopefully he'll be able to go and get some senior football and it will help him.
“He's trained quite a lot with us and he was around us at the time when we had quite a lot of injuries and we needed bodies. But he's never let us down.
“When he comes into training, he doesn't look out of place and it'll be a big test for him at Workington, because he's a he's a bit vertically challenged - like I am.
“It's going to be a big test for him, let's hope he does ok.”
