Carlisle United Football Club are delighted to confirm that North Lakes Energy – huge supporters of the club over many seasons – will once again be sponsoring the academy, through all age groups, up to and including the under-18s.
Already with high visibility across the stadium, NLE have a match day executive box, ground boards, and proudly display their logo on the training wear and across the front of the shirts worn by our academy players.
Commercial manager Debbie Huddart said: “NLE’s sponsorship of the academy has been so important to us for 10 seasons now.
“It has helped the academy to grow, develop, function and flourish, and I know that Jim and Helen are particularly proud whenever one of the young players goes on to earn a professional contract.
“This is an example of a sponsorship agreement that is of high significance and importance and which has a direct positive impact.
“An academy that has a pathway matters to clubs like ours, and both Jim and Helen, with NLE, are at the heart of that for us here at Brunton Park.
Jim Mclinden said: “This year marks the tenth year that the Mclinden family has sponsored elite youth football at Carlisle United, through our various businesses, and we are delighted to have signed a new two-year contract to extend our support for the club.
“We have always believed that the youth set up at the club is a vital part of its future and we are happy to be able to continue to play our part in what we see as a bright future.
“Over the last decade we have seen lots of young players come through the ranks and go on to become professionals – Gabe Breeze, Jarrad Branthwaite, Jack Ellis, Josh Galloway, Max Kilsby, Kai Nugent and Liam McCarron, to name but a few.
“However, a real highlight of our time as sponsors was for my wife Helen and I to be there at the play-off finals at Wembley and to see Taylor Charters, a product of the youth set up and one of our own, scoring the winning penalty.
“We plan to continue our close links with the club for the long-term and we wish everyone at the club the very best of luck with the season ahead.”
