CLUB: Saturday's protocols as we remember Her late Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II

Carlisle United would like to confirm the pre-match protocols ahead of Saturday’s Sky Bet League Two encounter at home to AFC Wimbledon as we pay our respects to Her late Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II.

Over a 70-year reign, Her Majesty served the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth with distinction. The thoughts of everybody at Carlisle United are with the Royal Family at this sad time.

All players and officials will be wearing black armbands as a mark of respect.

Our match day playlist will be altered, with only selected anthems to be played. The usual Fan Zone band will not be in attendance, and the Fan Zone will cease sales at 2.45pm to allow fans to enter the stadium in time.

The players will enter the field of play and complete the usual pre-match handshakes and sponsor photos, before both teams line-up around the centre circle. A tribute to Her late Majesty will then be read via the tannoy before the referee signals a minute’s silence.

Upon the end of the silence, we then invite you to join in with the National Anthem.

The match will kick-off at 3pm and turnstiles will open at 1.30pm. Ticket offices around the ground will pause sales at 2.55pm to enable all staff to pay their respects.

Stewards will hold fans back from entering the stadium during the silence and National Anthem, and we ask fans to wait to be allowed into the ground on the completion of this.

The club advises that supporters enter the stadium no later than 2.45pm, to ensure entry into the ground in advance of our tribute to Her late Majesty.

There will be no crossbar challenge at half time, but the Golden Gamble, Shirts for Sevens and the half time game on the pitch will take place as normal.

Thank you for your co-operation.
