Our always popular October half-term soccer school youngsters at Harraby received a surprise visit from Josh Dixon and Jordan Gibson last Friday - with over 160 children attending to take part in football, gymnastics and dance activities.
The pair handed out the medals and certificates after what had been an excellent week from all who attended.
CST assistant manager James Tose said: “I don’t mind repeating how much it makes things feel special when first-team players come along to meet the children.
“With Taylor Charters also going to Wigton last Friday, it shows once again how much this group has bought into the community aspect of what the club is doing.
“On behalf of everyone at the Community Sports Trust we’d like to thank Josh, Jordan and Taylor for giving up their time. It really is appreciated.”
“Giving out the medals is always enjoyable because you can see the pride on their faces when they come up to speak to us,” Josh told us.
“It’s nice to hear that they’ve had a good time and that they’ve learned a lot, along with being involved in the competitions and sessions.
“It’s all really well organised and the community staff are excellent, so it makes it a really good afternoon.”
“It was good to pop along and say hello,” Jordan added. “So many of the children wanted to talk about what they’d done during the week, so handing out the certificates was a good chance to meet all of them.
“I’d like to thank everybody for inviting us along and making us feel so welcome.”
