CLUB: Plea as club suffers stadium break-ins

We are extremely disappointed to report that the club has been the target of a series of break-ins over the last fortnight which are increasing in their frequency.

We have come to a point where we are asking the local community for help with us having suffered damage to doors and equipment.

Sadly, we also have to report that all of the Xboxes, used by our younger fans on a match day, have been taken from the Family Zone.

This weekend reached a new low with two more break-ins, where concourse concessions were ransacked, a brand-new concourse TV was stolen and the distinctive golf buggy used by our grounds staff was stolen, driven up Warwick Road and dumped in the river.

The damage is now running into thousands of pounds. We can see from CCTV footage that the alarms are being activated, but the damage is still being done.

The site is large, open, with numerous public footpaths and a variety of entry points, and we cannot fully prevent access or entry.

We have no alternative at present but to spend cash on further heightened security - to have a presence overnight and every weekend. It goes without saying this is something we could do without.

If anyone has any information about those responsible please inform the police directly (call 101), or contact us here at the club on 0330 094 5930 option 1, or via email on enquiries@carlisleunited.co.uk
