Having already announced a fantastic new partnership with Thomas Graham, who will be our front-of-shirt sponsors for the 2021/22 season, we are delighted to confirm that we will be keeping it local once again as Kitchen Rebels take pride of place on the back of our first-team playing shorts.
Based in Willowholme right here in Carlisle, Kitchen Rebels are leading the way in the area in bringing a fresh, vibrant and healthier way of living to the city by offering delicious calorie-controlled meals that are catered to their customers personal needs.
Director of football David Holdsworth said: “We’re really pleased that we’ve been able to grow our relationship with Kitchen Rebels to the point where we are now going to see their logo proudly displayed on the back of our first-team shorts.
“They are another local business who are building up a strong reputation in their field, and we feel it’s important for us to be working closely with organisations such as this.
“Over recent months they’ve been working closely with us on providing nutritional and healthy food for the players, and that’s been fantastic for all concerned.
“They have been extremely flexible in the way they’ve worked with us through the pandemic and we’re delighted that we’ve been able to take this next step.
“Sam from Kitchen Rebels is well-known around Carlisle and he came to us with a proposal which we felt was a good fit for both parties.
“The good thing is that they’ve been working closely with Greg our strength coach for a while now, and they understand our needs and requirements.
“We welcome them into the fold and we’re looking forward to working with them through this next year.”
Sam Norman from Kitchen Rebels told us: “The relationship first started when we reached out the club and brought samples for all the players and management to try.
“The club have maintained communication with Ashleigh over the course of the season and we’ve supplied training meals and pre-match means consistently.
“The working relationship has got stronger and stronger as time has gone on and we’re over the moon that we will now be taking the next step by becoming the short sponsor for the club.
“It’s my boyhood club in my home city and it’s an honour to be able to be part of it in this way. A lot of trust has been placed in us here at Kitchen Rebels and we will not let the city down.
"We can’t wait to see what our logo looks like when it appears on the shorts - it’s truly amazing for us here at Rebels.”
And on how the two parties will work together next year, he told us: “Our head chef Ashleigh will be holding regular meetings with the sports scientists and coaches to help us understand exactly what the players require pre-game, post-game and during the training week.
“We will be holding tasting days for the players in pre-season to engage with them and understand what they are looking for. Our food is created in-house designed specifically to meet the needs of the players and to hopefully fuel them for a successful campaign.
“We’ll be supplying the players with as much food as required including away games. It’s an exciting partnership for us and we can’t wait to see the lads in pre-season so that we can all push on together.”
Greg Short, United’s strength and conditioning coach, said: “The food Kitchen Rebels produce is excellent.
“It’s superb that the lads have such a wide variation of healthy foods to choose from. Having this available is essential for pre and post-training, and for match days, in terms of recovering well and preparing for games.
“Kitchen Rebels have also been fantastic in terms of support and flexibility, catering for specific dietary needs and supplying us whenever we need it. I can’t thank them enough for their efforts, and for the amazing food.”
