IN MEMORIAM: Big Screen Roll of Remembrance

As we head towards the start of a new season we would like to take a moment to reflect on those we have lost over the course of the last 18-months, from the onset of the pandemic since 1 January 2020 – be that players, supporters, former members of staff, or people connected with the club – and we now invite you to submit names which will appear on a Roll of Remembrance to be displayed on the match day Big Screen.

It has been an unbelievably testing and difficult period for many of us, and the subsequent lock-out of fans from stadiums took from us the opportunity to say goodbye to many of our friends who have sadly passed away.

At the Colchester home game (Saturday 7 August) we will be holding a minute of applause ahead of kick off as the names (and accompanying pictures, if requested) of all those we wish to remember are shown on the club’s Big Screen.

Our loved ones will then feature in a new In Memoriam section of the website, which will be updated going forward from here.

The club invites supporters to submit the names of any fan or other person connected to the club who they would like to be remembered in this moment of reflection, and on the official website – accompanying images (in jpeg format) are welcome.

If you wish to add a message of love and respect, this will appear on the official website only so that all names and images submitted can be included during the match day minute of applause.

All names received will be added to those of the former players and staff who have passed away during this period and will be displayed together as part of the Big Screen Roll of Remembrance.

Please email the details of the person you would like to be remembered to media@carlisleunited.co.uk – closing date for messages will be 5pm on 2 August 2021.

Our thoughts and condolences are, as ever, with anyone who has lost a family member or loved one.
