Perhaps it’s the fact that the last three games have all been on the road, but it really does feel as if it’s been an age since we were last at Brunton Park.
This afternoon sees the visit of Orient and it is, of course, a game we are looking forward to.
“We’re really looking forward to playing in front of our unbelievable supporters,” Chris Beech said. “Fair play to them for making those three trips, I can’t thank them enough, not just for going but for doing what they’re doing when they get there.
“If they’re driving all that way and getting stuck in the ‘let’s decide to close the M6 down’ ways we all have to get through, that’s brilliant of them.
“The other night is an example. I thought I’d be in bed pretty early with it being Port Vale away, but it was very late trying to get through Crewe and Congleton, but we got there in the end.
“So well done to them for doing it for them and us, it does take a lot out of you, especially when you’re up early and working the next day.”
The reward for everybody so far has been an unbeaten league start.
“I’m not too interested in those words about an unbeaten start, I’m more interested in making sure we treat each situation individually and making sure that if we’re going to give them something to shout about, we represent ourselves correctly to the hard working values I know our community represents,” he responded.
“That’s something I value personally. I don’t like it if players don’t represent that. We will be looking to do that for them, and I hope they turn up and support us in that.
“Look, we have had a solid start, especially with the only goal we’ve conceded in the league coming from a cheap, wide free kick. That’s probably one of the only times we haven’t challenged for a first contact header.
“I think it’s really important to get off to a good start, and it’s important to be hard to beat, but it can soon change. I read an interview from Stevenage about going under the radar and recruiting really well on Monday, then on Tuesday Bradford whacked them.
“Football can quickly change, we’re doing ok, but I want more.”
