United stormed their way through December 1994 as they backed up an FA Cup second-round victory over Darlington with a run of five consecutive league victories.
Definitely one of the highlights of the run was a whopping away victory over Hartlepool which saw Tony Gallimore, Derek Mountfield, Paul Conway and David Reeves (2) score the goals in the convincing 5-1 win.
The only way that could be bettered was if United dealt with promotion rivals Bury - their next opponents at Brunton Park - in a suitable way, and they didn't disappoint as Reeves, Currie and Conway put the icing on the cake of a complete performance with some extremely well taken goals.
Reeves took his personal tally to 18 for the campaign and the 12,242 people inside the ground [the capacity at that time] told only half the story as an estimated 2,000 disappointed Blues supporters were locked out, with the stadium full to the brim.
Dean Walling rounded the month off on a high as he scored the only goal when United made the always long and difficult trip to Gillngham on New Year's Eve, and Carlisle were once again the team to beat as they topped the Division Three pile heading into 1995.
