The Carlisle United Football Club Community Sports Trust [CUFCCST] has taken the decision this afternoon to suspend all community activities with immediate effect.
CST manager John Halpin said: “In light of the most recent announcements I can confirm that the Community Sports Trust will be suspending its activities.
“This includes all holiday courses and soccer schools, including those we had scheduled for Carlisle, Wigton and Penrith through the half-term break.
“The current situation does not lend itself to mass gatherings of this nature and the health of our staff, and of the course participants, is of paramount importance.”
“Although activities are suspended, I have been in contact with several schools this morning regarding their provision for the care of vulnerable pupils next week,” he added. “I have offered the Community Trust’s services to support schools that feel we can contribute in these strange times.
“As with everything, the safety of those we deal with remains at the forefront with every decision we make, and we will continue to do what we can, including offering assistance and support, where it is possible to do so.”
