THE VICEROY: Local business pledges long-term support

You’ll have seen us talk a number of times over the past few weeks about the overwhelming levels of support we’ve been receiving from fans, sponsors and club partners with people reminding us daily through phone calls, emails, and on social media, just how important Carlisle United is to them.

One such conversation came our way a few days ago when strength and conditioning coach Dave Waldie was contacted by the staff at The Viceroy, here in Carlisle, who let us know that the fantastic agreement to supply post-match food for the players was still in place, whenever the return to playing games happens to be.

“It was fantastic to hear from them,” Dave said. “I don’t think it was ever in doubt that they’d continue to help us, but hearing that directly from them is important.

“There are all kinds of things we’ll need to have in place whenever it is safe to get back to playing games, and it’s good to have one of the requirements ticked off the list.

“I’d like to thank everybody at The Viceroy because they’ve been superb with us. It’s a relationship that works both ways and hopefully it’s one that will continue for a long time to come.”
