MATCH UPDATES: Hints and tips ahead of the weekend game

A big welcome to our match day sponsors

Our match sponsor this weekend is Jewson - the expert building materials supplier. Regular supporters of the club, they'll be up in Foxy's Restaurant as they back the Blues once again on Saturday. We hope they bring us luck as they get behind the lads for the big game.

Our associate sponsor is the gang from the Paul Jones Bakery. We're really looking forward to welcoming them into our hospitality areas this weekend.

Our match ball sponsor for the game is Stuart Carruthers. He'll be taking part in the pre-match line-up with the players and officials and will be helping to deliver the ball to the centre circle.

Have a great day with us everyone!

CUOSC Foodbank collections

CUOSC, in conjunction with Carlisle United, are holding a foodbank appeal before the home game against Grimsby on Saturday 14 December.

The collection gives United fans the chance to make a difference and previous collections, on behalf of Carlisle Foodbank, have always been well supported. We hope this one will receive a similar response.

The aim of Carlisle Foodbank is to provide three days of emergency food for people in the area who are in crisis.

Every donation of tinned or long-life food is valuable, but the Foodbank is always in need of UHT or powdered milk. Also toiletries, nappies, baby wipes and household cleaning products would be appreciated.

The collection point will be the CUOSC supporters’ surgery in the Study Centre, next to the club shop, between 1.30 and 2.45pm om the day of the game.

Fans can also drop items off at the Pioneer ticket office in the week leading up to the game, as well in the Study Centre between 6.30pm and 7.30pm ahead of the Forest Green Rovers FA Cup replay on Tuesday 10 December.

CUOSC are trying to develop the bond between the club and community and believe appeals like this help.

Remember every donation counts, no matter how big or small.

A list of items welcomed includes: Milk (UHT or powdered), Sugar (500g), Long Life Fruit Juice (carton), Packet Soup, Pasta Sauces (tin, jar or packet), Sponge Pudding (tinned), Custard (tinned or packet instant),Tomatoes, (tinned), Cereals, Rice Pudding (tinned), Small Box Tea Bags/Small Instant Coffee, Instant Mashed Potato, Rice, Tinned Meat/Fish, Tinned Fruit and Vegetables, Tinned Spaghetti, Tinned Ravioli, Jam/Marmalade, Biscuits or Snack Bars, Pot Noodles, Toiletries such as toilet roll, deodorant, shampoo, soap, nappies, baby wipes and household cleaning products.

Not Today Or Any Day

Work is continuing with the Premier League and the Football Association to improve processes and procedures in place to address discrimination in stadiums, with commitments made to review how clubs sanction and educate offenders, tackle under-representation across all levels of the game and improve training provisions for stewards to ensure they are best equipped to recognise and respond to issues as they arise.

However, there is no room for complacency and the EFL and its clubs are reinforcing the collective approach to be taken under the header ‘Not today or any day’, if anyone experiences, or is subject to, discriminatory behaviour.

The EFL recommends the following methods:

+ Report it to a steward or police officer. Reporting incidents early helps clubs to take immediate action.

+ Confidentially report it via the Kick It Out App, available on iPhone and Android.

+ Report it to Kick it Out on social media (@KickItOut), phone (0800 169 9414) or email info@kickitout.org

+ Via the Kick It Out website form at https://www.kickitout.org/forms/online-reporting-form

In addition, clubs, players, managers and officials have also been reminded of a matchday protocol introduced to domestic football ahead of the 2019/20 season, alongside The Football Association and the Premier League, in an attempt to ensure the matchday environment provides a positive experience for all.

The protocol is designed to ensure that incidents of abuse are effectively addressed, perpetrators are identified and dealt with, while at the same time make sure that the match is not unduly interrupted with a step by step guide mapped out to support participants take the right course of action in such a scenario.
