And the unbeaten Latics grabbed three goals to take all the points despite what was a spirited performance from the away side.
Carlisle gave as good as they got until the hosts went two up on 70 minutes, and the game was wrapped up late in the day when the young Blues, made up mosty of first years, threw men forward in search of a reply.
