previewcrawley14mar18

It's the first of two back-to-back home games for the Blues on Saturday as we host Crawley Town right here at Brunton Park.

Looking ahead to the game, manager Keith Curle said: "Crawley are in a similar position to us in that they're looking up the table, having picked up some decent results through February.

"They'll provide us with another tough test, but it's one we're looking forward to. We go into the weekend with confidence and we're determined to keep our own undefeated run going.

"This is where we ask our fans to play their part. They've been fantastic with us all season and we're hoping to see them in good numbers, backing us all the way again.

"Brunton Park is a formidable place when our supporters are urging us on, and there is no doubt that they have helped us to get results and see games over the line during my time here.

"We all know the aim and I firmly believe that together we can get the job done."

Level Playing Field - Day of Action

This weekend sees our official Level Playing Field day of action.

For Saturday's game you will see a group of children who have a range of disabilities and who are massive United fans. They have set up a football team and have attended a number of activities with the club recently, and have had an enjoyable time in the process. They will form our guard of honour, complete with flag waving, as the players walk out of the tunnel ahead of kick off and have been given free tickets for the game as a thank you for their efforts.

We willalso have a group from Eden Mencap with us, who support children with learning difficulties and autism in the Borders region. They will be holding the Level Playing Fields banner in front of the pre-match line-up.

We are also delighted to welcome members of Young People First: Access All Areas. This is a charity funded by Children in Need. They help with confidence in young people who have all kinds of disabilities. They go into schools and also provide a safe environment for children outside of school, and we are looking forward to watching them taking part in a penalty shoot-out at half time.

The Man in the Middle

Our match referee this weekend is Martin Coy.

We've seen Mr Coy twice already this season, with a mixed bag of results to report.

Way back in August he was the man in the middle for the visit of Cheltenham when Reggie Lambe and Tom Miller added to an early Harry Pell own goal to give the Blues a comfortable 3-0 victory. Mark Ellis was the only United name taken on the day.

He was back with us in November when a late Shaun Miller goal wasn't enough to prevent Fleetwood from taking a 2-1 Checkatrade Trophy win back to Highbury. Jamie Devitt and Tom Miller were the men to go in the book in that game.
