United midfielder Jamie Devitt has been voted the PFA Bristol Street Motors Player of the Month for February by football fans across the country.

In a vote run by fan engagement experts, Snack Media, the Carlisle United midfielder won with a staggering 29% of the vote for February, with Alex Nichols of Barnet coming in second place with 16%.

Devitt’s goal scoring surge throughout February led Carlisle to earn 10 points and push the club into the top 10 of the League Two Table.

The full list of contenders from the final shortlist polled were as follows:

+ Jamie Devitt (Carlisle) – 29%

+ Alex Nichols (Barnet)  - 16%

+ Alfie Potter (Mansfield town) - 15%

+ Kayden Jackson (Accrington Stanley) - 15%

+ Marc Richards (Swindon Town) - 13%

+ Farrand Rawson (Forest Green) - 12%

Speaking about the award, Devitt said: "Like I said the other day, it's great to get nominated and I can't thank the fans enough for voting for me.

"The only reason things like this come your way is because everybody is doing their bit. The lads have been fantastic, we're all playing with confidence, and the way we've been playing as a team has meant that I've been able to get a few goals and help to create chances.

"Hopefully we'll all keep getting recognised for the way we're playing between now and the end of the season because it'll mean that we're where we want to be.

"Thanks again to the fans. They've been brilliant with me this week, with the reaction to the contract news and to the awards nominations, and we're all looking forward to getting to Exeter and hopefully putting on another good performance."
