Winger Jamie Devitt popped along to the Thompsons training session on St Aidans pitches on Wednesday afternoon as a thank you to the youngsters who came to our home game against Notts County.
Thompsons were at Brunton Park as part of our very successful Community Ticket Scheme and Jamie returned the favour by watching them go through their paces on a very muddy playing surface.
Speaking at the event, Jamie said: "It's fantastic to see how much effort has gone in to making their club successful.
"I spoke to a few of their coaches and they were saying that it has gone from one or two groups, mainly for boys, to little kickers, pan-disability, girls and boys mixed, and competitive age groups for the older children.
"The club has become so popular that they're talking about more age groups being created in January. That's brilliant to see and you can see that they're all enjoying themselves.
"Appearances like this are good because you get to see how excited they all are and, on top of that, you also see them putting everything into the training sessions."
