The under-18 side completed their pre-season friendly schedule with an away game against Celtic this afternoon.
United had their work cut out as they came up against a determined Celtic side who stormed into a two-goal lead as they settled quickly into their stride.
The Cumbrians looked stronger and had a quicker tempo to their play after the break and strikes from Max Cowburn and Samuel Adewusi earned them a draw from what was an extremely competitive fixture.
Youth boss Darren Edmondson said: “It was fantastic of Celtic to host us and they really did look after us well.
“The lads dug deep to get their way back into what was a tough game and they’ll have learned a lot from this.
“We come away feeling pleased and we now head into a week of work before our season kicks off at Wrexham on Friday.”
