United's final pre-season friendly fixture of the summer was the visit of League One side Blackburn Rovers on Friday evening.

Below is a minute-by-minute report from the game:

3' The visitors passed the ball well and they worked a path down United's left flank with Dack at the heart of it. His lay-off for Samuel invited the shot but the striker leaned back and popped it over the bar.

4' Dack was good with the ball at his feet again but his cross was easy for Bonham to gather.

7' Rovers pressed with some good football through the centre of the park but Samuel missed his volley as he was fed through by that man Dack.

8' A cross from the right was met by Graham with a diving header but Bonham stretched long to tip it past his post.

10' Lambe and Adams exchanged passes in a tight spot and the cross from the latter was whipped in as Hope arrived late. The forward was a whisker away from slotting it home.

12' Slick passing from Carlisle put them in front as Tom Miller played Adams on the overlap. The wide man cut in, crossed low and celebrated as the unfortunate Ryan Nyambe sliced a clearance into his own net.

17' Danny Graham had two bites of the cherry when his first shot was saved only to be followed up by a second unstoppable volley.

19' Devitt tried his luck from distance when it opened up in front of him. He struck it well but it angled past the post.

28' Rovers pounced on a misplaced pass but the cross from Samuel was put away to safety by Parkes.

31' Adams curled a deep cross to the far post, Tom Miller met it but his header was straight at the keeper.

37' Samuel tried to guide a header at the bottom corner from the edge of the area but it lacked power and Bonham cleared. The United stopper earned a round of applause seconds later when Samuel suddely found himself in space. A low, drilled effort was well saved by the Carlisle keeper.

41' A sustained spell of pressure from the hosts saw them pepper the box with crosses from Adams, Grainger and Lambe. Devitt popped up with the last one and Hope was inches away from finishing it off.

42' United stayed forward and more excellent approach play left Devitt with time to deliver. He put it on a plate for Reggie Lambe to notch from close range.

44' Carlisle almost extended their lead when another cross bounced off the Blackburn keeper as Hope slid in to challenge.

50' Gary Liddle timed a tackle to perfection to stop Dack in his tracks before he could shoot from the edge of the area.

57' United spurned a golden opportunity to grab a third when Hope used pace to get into the area. He held play up until Lambe overlapped and the wide man will feel he should have grabbed his second of the day had it not been for a good save from Raya.

68' Carlisle sprayed the ball from right to left and Grainger dinked a measured cross towards the penalty spot as Lambe once again arrived late.

72' Feeney rattled the United bar with a wicked shot from distance. Two more efforts from the same kinds of distances were wild and high.

79' Richie Bennett shielded a high ball for Lambe and the pair moved it quickly to fashion a chance. Lambe curled it but it was too close to Raya.

83' Dack was put clean through but he poked his shot under Bacon and wide of the post.

87' Bennett nodded a Grainger free kick over the bar as he came under pressure in the box.

90' United wrapped things up with a lovely goal as the Trialist back heeled the ball to Shaun Miller. He kept his cool, dropped his shoulder and smashed the ball home.
