United are in League Two action against Port Vale here at Brunton Park this weekend.

Looking ahead to the weekend, manager Keith Curle said: "Obviously we were all disappointed when the game was called off on Tuesday night but that's part and parcel of football.

"You don't dwell on it. You immediately swicth your focus to what you can affect and, in our case, that means getting ready for the visit of Port Vale.

"Neil [Aspin] has gone in there and he'll be demanding high standards from his players. They won't be happy at all with where they are and they'll be looking to get the points they need to climb away from the bottom area of the division.

"We will have to be aware of that but we'll prepare properly and we'll look to impose our game on them as much as possible.

"It feels like a long time since we've been on our own patch so it's one we're looking forward to."

In addition on Saturday, pupils from William Howard School are carrying out a bucket collection. The money is being raised for students who are going on a football tour to Holland during Easter next year. Money will contribute towards those students who need subsidies (pupil premium), lunches at the venue, and a hoody to show how the pupils represented the school abroad. Any further funds raised will be taken off the overall price of the trip for each student to make this more affordable for parents/carers.

We're also looking forward to welcoming Dalston Black Reds as part of the Community Ticket Scheme in the Cumberland Community Stand - over 100 members of the group are coming along to join us - we hope you all enjoy the match!

And keep an eye out for some of our Academy lads as they take part in mini-games on the pitch during the half time break.

CUOSC - Collections for Carlisle Foodbank and CFM Mission Christmas

Carlisle United Official Supporters' Club are appealing to fans to help make Christmas special for those less fortunate.

They are holding food and toy collections before the home game with Port Vale at Brunton Park on Saturday (December 16).

The food collection is on behalf of Carlisle Foodbank whose aim is to provide three days of emergency food for people in the area in crisis.

They are also helping with the Mission Christmas appeal, organised by CFM radio, and are hoping to collect toys or gifts for underprivileged, disadvantaged or disabled children.

The collection point for both the food and toys will be the CUOSC supporters’ surgery in the Study Centre, at Brunton Park (next to the club shop) between 1.30 and 2.30pm.
