EnglandFans FC Manager Garford Beck said: “We, at EnglandFans FC, are delighted to be involved in such a worthy cause. The flooding we witnessed in Cumbria before Christmas was horrific and, as football fans, we were particularly saddened by the plight of Carlisle United FC.
"Ourselves and the good people of the Carlisle United Supporters' Club London Branch FC have joined forces in an effort, not just to help Carlisle United FC, but all those affected by the floods. Our two fans groups just wanted to do our little bit to show that we care.”
CUSCLB FC Captain Chris Tembey added: "It is with great pride that CUSCLB FC find themselves heading to Park View Road to lock horns with EnglandFans FC. Our first ever meeting promises to be one to remember, offering a terrific afternoon of football and fun for a cause that could not be more worthy.
"We were all moved greatly by the scenes back home following the effects of Storm Desmond. At the time of the floods back in December 2015, Carlisle United themselves were playing at Park View Road meeting Welling United in the FA Cup second round. Since that day Welling United have reached Premier League status in terms of the support and generosity offered.
"They are a credit to football and we are deeply grateful to them. EnglandFans FC have shown a passion to support and a level of commitment that is second to none; they are a credit to themselves and the group they represent. Together we have joined forces and now look forward to sharing a special afternoon, with some very special guests. New friendships will be made and the true meaning of football will be displayed, whilst giving support to the people of Cumbria affected by the flooding."
