United squad give new detox drink a run-out
United manager Keith Curle this week introduced something new to his Emirates FA Cup build-up repertoire as he took delivery of a batch of Blac – the latest juice from juicetou.com – a drink designed to aid the natural detox mechanisms in the human body.
Blac, an activated charcoal based product, collects and flushes out toxins as it passes through the body, and will be added to the players’ night time drinking inventory in the run-up to the weekend’s big game.
“I was asked to try it, so I did, and I felt amazing on it,” Curle said. “It does exactly what it says on the tin in that it gives you a total system cleanse.
“It leaves you feeling invigorated and, having done it myself, I was keen to get the players to try it as well.”
“There was a bit of hesitancy when it came to drinking it,” he admitted. “However, the nice thing about it is that it is very palatable. It has a slight texture to it, because of the charcoal content, but it certainly doesn’t feel anything like chewing gravel in any way, shape or form.
“I spoke to the lads about it and they were all keen to give it a go. The course runs over the full week and I think the players will appreciate what it adds to their diet and preparation.”
