MATCH BUILD-UP: Lots going on this weekend

The Brunton Park news ahead of the visit of Dagenham & Redbridge

United are looking to extend their league run to three wins in a row on Saturday afternoon and the odds seem ever in their favour as you have to look as far back as 17 March (nine games in all competitions) for their last defeat on home turf.

Our betting partner Sky Bet has some fantastic odds available on all match markets – click HERE for more details.

The match referee for the big game is Ross Joyce. Mr Joyce has taken charge of five games this season and has shown a total of 20 yellow cards and one red. This is his first time as the man in the middle for a Carlisle United fixture.

Remember, you can save £3 on match day prices by purchasing your ticket before 5pm on Friday. Pop down in person, call the ticket office on 0844 371 1921 or buy online and print at home by clicking HERE.

Liverpool ticket collections

We ask fans who wish to collect their pre-paid Liverpool match tickets to do so early in the day on Saturday, or to come round to the main ticket office after the full time whistle has blown.

We want to avoid queues as much as possible for those fans attending the Dagenham game and we thank you in advance for your assistance with this matter.

Ross’s Bar

We are pleased to announce that Ross’s Bar, situated in the Pioneer Foodservice East Stand concourse, will open from 1.30pm on Saturday for the sale of a wide range of refreshments.

Bottles of Bulmers and Fosters will be available at just £2.50 per 330ml bottle, and there will also be cans of John Smiths, Guinness, Fosters and Bulmers on sale from the bar throughout the afternoon.

Please note, Ross’s Bar will stock light snacks but hot food will not be available from this outlet.

The Blues

Your popular match day programme is packed with something for everyone this weekend and, priced at just £2, we think it’s a match day ‘must have’.

Joe Thompson takes centre stage as we get to know him a little bit better – but you probably won’t be surprised at who he thinks could start an argument in an empty room, or even who he feels would be the one to stitch him up with a prank or a practical joke.

Tackle our Fun Page with Olga and find plenty to talk about with regular features from CUOSC, Virgin Trains, Paddock Patter and our always popular club history section.

Pop into the Blues Store to get your copy, or see one of our programme sellers in their usual positions dotted around the stadium.

Blues Store

On the subject of the Blues Store, don’t forget our fantastic 15% discount offer for season ticket holders runs until 3pm on Wednesday 23 September – the day of the much anticipated Liverpool fixture.

The discount applies to all fully priced items, and that includes our brand new half-and-half CUFC/LFC scarf, produced as a memento for this special occasion.

Non-season ticket holders who are in possession of a QPR, Barnet, Dagenham, York or Liverpool match ticket will receive a 10% discount on all fully priced items on production of their match ticket at the point of sale.

Let’s turn our corner of Anfield blue – see you in the Blues Store on Saturday!

Family Zone

The Carlisle United Family Zone is now open for business following a very successful and enjoyable first day last weekend, for the home game against Barnet.

First team squad members Dave Atkinson, Connor Hammell and Courtney Meppen-Walter went along to see the kids and they were put to test with competitions and games which included FIFA 15 in the XBox Zone, Table Football and Pool in the Acitivity Zone, stickers and colouring in the Craft Zone and Mario Kart races in the Wii Zone.

The Family Zone, housed in the Pioneer Foodservice stand, provides a fantastic area where families can relax and enjoy pre-match activities in a safe and secure environment.

Finance director Suzanne Kidd said: “We are delighted with our Family Zone and it was fantastic to see it in operation last weekend.

“A lot of people came together to make it a reality – Liam Briggs and Mark Bowman from Carlisle Council (safety and regualatory advice), McKnight Builders, Peter Tyson, Game, AST Signs, Argos, Tony Chilton (and his team of carpet fitters), Stuart Pattinson and our team of admin staff at the club.

“The chance is there for people to pop along and see what we have on offer again for Saturday’s fixture and we’re looking forward to it becoming a permanent match day feature from now on.”
