BIG MATCH PREVIEW: Exeter City

The big match information ahead of the visit of Exeter

It’s a second home game in quick succession for United as Exeter City make the long trip north for match number 12 on this season’s League Two calendar.

The Grecians battled out a compelling 3-3 draw at home with Stevenage last Sunday and have picked up four points from their last two away games at Newport and Portsmouth respectively.

Manager Keith Curle said: “We had bruised egos and dented pride in the dressing room after the game against Morecambe. The players know they have more to give and the work this week is focused on making sure we know our roles and responsibilities going into another important home game on Saturday.”

Remember, you can save £3 on match day prices by purchasing your ticket before 5pm on Friday. Pop down in person, call the ticket office on 0844 371 1921 or buy online and print at home, or order for collection, by clicking HERE.

The Brunton Park Playlist

We hit you with ‘The Hits’ for our Brunton Park match day playlist last weekend and the feedback received was fantastic!

So much so, in fact, that we’ll be doing the same again ... but with a twist! We want YOU to send us your suggestions for songs to play as part our big match build-up, with the best suggestions getting a prime playlist position and a mention over the PA system.

Send your Saturday playlist suggestions to media@carlisleunited.co.uk and we’ll do the rest.

The Mascots

Our mascots on Saturday are Jackson Fell and Zachary Sutherland. Jabo Ibehre is a big favourite with both lads and you don’t need to go much further than pizza to keep them smiling at tea time.

And it comes as no surprise to learn that both lads are particularly looking forward to meeting their heroes and to warming up out on the pitch.

Have a good day boys!

The Man in the Middle

Our match referee is Mr Tony Harrington. Tony has taken charge of five games so far this season and has shown just 14 cards – an average of fewer than three per game.

The last time we met was for Exeter’s last trip to Brunton Park at the beginning of March. The Grecians took a 3-1 victory home with goals from Ryan Harley (2) and Liam Sercombe. Steven Rigg bagged for us on the day. Troy Archibald-Henville was the only name taken.

Our betting partner Sky Bet has some fantastic odds available on all match markets – click HERE for more details.

The Match Programme

Issue 8 of The Blues is on sale from our usual programme selling points and outlets from 10am on Saturday morning.

This week we get to know Derek Asamoah much better than we knew him before, including his Ghanaian name. Find out what makes him nervous and who in the squad would have no chance of joining him should he be sent away for a desert island vacation!

Historian David Steele takes at look at our records against every club over the last 3,500 fixtures and regular features from the Paddock, London and League Two will keep you entertained.

Priced at just £2, it’s a definite match day must-have.
