SCHOOLS: Pan-Disability Event

Competition in full-flow today

For the third year running Under 19 pan-disability football will take place at the Level 3 Cumbria School Games event, this year hosted in Carlisle on Thursday 4 July.

School teams from around the County took part in a school games competition earlier this year to determine who would represent each District at the annual event.

Those taking part this year are:

Stainburn School (Allerdale)
Mayfield School (Copeland)
William Howard School (Carlisle)
Appleby Grammar School (Eden)
George Hastwell School (Barrow)

Cumberland FA & Carlisle United wish to express their thanks to all those who have taken part in our CUFC schools programme this year, and we wish the best of luck to those teams competing in the School Games.

Disability Football Development Officer Jess Lawson said: "It’s been a fantastic year for our youth disability football programme; the levels of participation have increased in both specialist and mainstream schools, seeing around 80-100 disabled youngsters playing at each event.

“We are currently piecing together an exciting programme for next year, with an abundance of football festival opportunities for our school teams, new and old, to get involved.”
