STRIKER ENDS LOAN SPELL

O'Halloran returns to Bolton

Striker Michael O'Halloran has opted to cut-short his stay with Carlisle United and has returned to parent club Bolton Wanderers just twelve days in to a loan spell which would have kept him at Brunton Park until 6 October 2012.

Scottish-born O'Halloran, 21, came through the Bolton Youth system and enjoyed a ten-week loan spell with Sheffield United at the end of last season. He has represented his country at U17, U19 and U21 level.

He joined the Cumbrians at the end of last month for their weekend away trip to MK Dons and he came off the bench late in that game to make his only appearance for the club.

Manager Greg Abbott said: "Michael came to see me and he told me that he felt that he wanted to get back down to Bolton to carry on his work down there.

"He wanted more in the way of pitch time with us and we couldn't guarantee him that at this moment in time. I spoke to Owen [Coyle] and he has been fantastic about the situation, so Michael leaves here with our very best wishes."
