Danny Cadamarteri on getting his first goal
Striker Danny Cadamarteri spoke to us at full time on Saturday to give us his reaction to scoring his first goal for the club.
He said: “As a striker you want to be scoring goals and the gaffer has told all of us that it’s up to us to replace the goals Lee Miller got last season.
“For me, I’m delighted that I’m on the score sheet but the most important thing is that we got the win. I followed in with the free kick and fortunately it fell kindly for me. I got a good connection and it went in, so it’s a great feeling."
“We knew we were still in the game at half time and we made sure we kept going," he explained.
"Maybe we rode our luck a bit when Steve Howard hit the bar, but that seemed to be a bit of a turning point. There was only going to be one winner once we got on top."
On the job he's been given to do at the moment, he told us: “I’ve played a number of roles in the past and the manager has told me what he wants from me at this moment in time. Hopefully I’ll keep playing as well as I can.
“It’s nice to get a run of games in the position I prefer and it helps with the consistency for me and for the team. The icing on the cake is putting the ball into the back of the net right in front of your own fans. They’ve been patient with me and they always give me a great reception so it’s nice to be able to give them a little bit back.
“We’re a small group here but we’re all working really hard to make things happen and with support like that we won’t go far wrong.”
