Patching joined United in January 2025, after his contract had expired with Irish Premier Division side Derry City.

He was a popular figure for Derry, playing 130 times over two spells where he scored 35 goals.

Patching began his career in the Manchester City academy, and has also had stints with Dundalk and Notts County.

He has also represented England at U17 level.
