Ahead of Christmas, the Blues visited Cumberland Infirmary and Jigsaw, Cumbria's Childrens Hospice.
Last week, Harrison Neal went to Symths Toys Superstores in Kingstown alongside Club Captain, Sam Lavelle. The pair purchased a range of things on behalf of the whole squad - who had also put money towards the trip. In addition, Smyths also kindly donated to the range of toys that we went on to distribute on Monday afternoon at both locations.
Speaking on the trip to Cumberland Infirmary, Lavelle said: "It was great for the squad to visit the hospital. It puts things into perspective and makes you realise how lucky we are and fortunate to do what we do.
"The staff there do a brilliant job, they were extremely helpful during our visit and you can tell they have a big impact on the kids.
"It was good for us to give back to the community and give the kids in the hospital at Christmas a little smile with the toys that we gave them. It was a great afternoon."
On United's visit to Jigsaw, Cumbria's Childrens Hospice, Charlie Wyke added: "It was nice to visit the children and staff at Jigsaw to deliver some presents ahead of Christmas.
"It's brilliant to be able give back to the community and put smiles on faces at such an important time of the year.
"Thank you to everyone at Jigsaw for making us feel so welcome - Merry Christmas!"
Thank you to both Cumberland Infirmary and Jigsaw for inviting us along - we wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
