TYLER BUREY SPEAKS FOLLOWING DONCASTER ROVERS STALEMATE

.

We spoke to Tyler Burey following our 0-0 draw with Doncaster Rovers.

Speaking to CUTV, he said: “I thought we played very well. I think week-by-week now we're just buying into what the gaffer wants and we're just getting better week-by-week and we're building and as a team we're doing better and I think everyone's performing.

“We were unlucky not to get the three points today but I think everyone's worked their socks off and we're just building now week in week out.”

The Blues extended their unbeaten streak to four matches in all competitions against a side currently in placed third and in the hunt for promotion.

“I don't think we're focusing on where a team is, I think we're just focusing on what we need to do, what the gaffer wants us to do and we're just building off that week-by-week and we're going into games now and everyone knows what they've got to do and we're all helping each other and we're all helping each other to get on the ball.”

The Cumbrians had a strong opening 45, and when asked what the message was from Mike Williamson at the interval, he stated: “The gaffer said to help the ball carrier and for everyone to not switch off.

"I think that's key, everyone's helping each other not to switch off because the one moment you switch off, it could be a goal, so as you can see today, everyone was on it, everyone's helping each other and you can just see on the pitch that we were the better team but it was just unlucky that we didn't get the three points.”

The second-half saw Rovers come into it a bit more, but the lads stuck together and put their bodies on the line to prevent the visitors from finding the back of Gabe Breeze's net.

"It just shows the togetherness. We don't want to lose, we only want to win so you can see the clearances, the heading, the consistency and we're just all switched on and we know that we can't switch off because the other team will score or they can create a chance that we don't really want to deal with at that time so we're just literally switched on and playing well and just building on it week-by-week.”

United thought they’d won it deep into stoppage time, when Cameron Harper struck home at the far post, only to be denied by the offside flag.

“I always say if it was an offside, then how are you going to blow the whistle once the goal's gone in, surely you'd blow it once someone's offside but hey it's part of the game so we just got to focus now on next week."

Speaking on his spell in Cumbria so far, Burey added: “It's been a learning curve for me obviously, I'm normally a left-winger, but I'm playing right-wing-back and I'm just asking the gaffer constantly on little points to help me do the best I can on the pitch.

"I'm getting better and better and the main thing for me is I'm playing and I'm happy.

“I'm a 1v1 player, every time I get the ball if I've got space, I'm going to back myself to beat the defender 1v1.”

Following a tremendous backing home and away in recent weeks, the Blues will look to extend their unbeaten run further next weekend in front of another top crowd at Brunton Park against Crewe Alexandra.

Speaking on the fans, Tyler said: "Keep the same support, we're all trying hard and it's always good to have the extra man off the pitch - the fans, so we thank them for all the travelling they've done and all the support and we just hope that the support is the same as today, next week.”
